Etymology

[edit]

@Sławobóg: This etymology does not explain the semantics of the word in the folklore of different Slavic peoples. Your etymology is incorrect. Gnosandes ❀ (talk) 13:29, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Can you explain var- > rar-? I don't think so. And relation with Svarog was imagined by Jakobson. Sławobóg (talk) 13:32, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Contamination with the verb. Gnosandes ❀ (talk) 13:58, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
That is still pseudoetymology. 0 sources or outdated sources. Even if we assume that rarog was "fiery falcon", it is later semantic innovation, that doesn't explain etymology at all. Sławobóg (talk) 14:11, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
