[edit]From Proto-Turkic *tiakï + *-gu. Cognate to Proto-Mongolic *takïxa (“hen”), Khitan 𘰺𘯛𘯺 (teqoa, “hen”) and Proto-Tungusic *tiaku (“hen”), but they might be interdialectal loans ultimately going back to the Proto-Turkic form.
