[edit]Compared to Proto-Turkic *sogï- (“to cool, get cold”), whence Turkish soğumak (“to cold, get cold”). Also compared to Korean 식다 (sikda, “to cold off”), by Altaicists. (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
