Etymology

Parallel to *pakъ (again), in which case the origin would (probably) be from Proto-Indo-European *h₁pi (by, at) + *-kъ (denotational suffix), similar to *tukъ (here), *takъ (thus), *kakъ (how) from *tu (locative specifier), *tъ (that one), *kъjь (which, who) + *-kъ.
