Possibly a substrate term related to Latin ervum (bitter-vetch), Ancient Greek ὄροβος (órobos, bitter-vetch), ἐρέβινθος (erébinthos, chickpea) and to Middle Armenian առուոյտ (aṙuoyt, alfalfa).
