[edit]Borrowed from Proto-Indo-Iranian *tŕ̥nam, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *tr̥nós. Proto-Permic *turn (Komi-Zyrian турун (turun), Udmurt турын (turyn)) has the same origin.
