Reconstruction:Proto-Celtic/burros
Appearance
Proto-Celtic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Matasović entertains a derivation from Proto-Indo-European *bʰrewh₁- (“to boil”) suffixed with *-rós (Caland adjective suffix).[1] Such a derivation would proceed as *bʰruh₁-rós > *bʰru-rós (Dybo's law shortening) > *bruros > *burros (metathesis).
