Reconstruction:Gothic/π²π°πΉππ½π
Appearance
Gothic
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Germanic *gernaz. The word is unattested in Gothic by itself, and arguments in support of its existence are based primarily on the supposition that its extant derivates were formed in Gothic and not inherited from Proto-Germanic. KΓΆbler lists the two derived adjectives as calques from Ancient Greek, suggesting the use of this word in Gothic. Parallel terms appear to exist in other Germanic languages for ππ°πΉπ·πΏπ²π°πΉππ½π΄πΉ (faihugairnei) however, which may suggest a common Germanic origin for ππ°πΉπ·πΏπ²π°πΉππ½π (faihugairns).
