(archaic) A native or resident of the state of Massachusetts in the United States of America.^[1]^[2]

Usage notes

“Bay Stater” is the official designation of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts^[3] but the federal government style guide prefers “Massachusettsan”.^[4]
