[edit]From jubeln (“to cheer”) + Perser (“Persian”), coined in the context of the anti-Shah demonstrations in West Germany and West Berlin, specifically that of 2 June 1967.

[edit]Jubelperser m (strong, genitive Jubelpersers, plural Jubelperser, feminine Jubelperserin)
- (historical, originally) one of a group of Iranian nationals (some of them SAVAK agents) who shouted pro-Shah slogans during the demonstrations against Mohammad Reza Shah's visit to West Berlin on 2 June 1967 and who subsequently beat up protesters in cooperation with local police

- (by extension, informal, derogatory, dated) claqueur (person paid to clap at performances)
