[edit]From Ecclesiastical Latin Isaac, from Classical Latin Isaāc, from Ancient Greek Ἰσαᾱ́κ (Isaā́k), from Biblical Hebrew יצחק (Yiṣḥāq, literally “he laughs, he will laugh”). Compare also Slovak Izák and Czech Izák.
