Hungarian terms for types or instances of collective numbers.
NOTE: This is a set category. It should contain terms for collective numbers, not merely terms related to collective numbers. It may contain more general terms (e.g. types of collective numbers) or more specific terms (e.g. names of specific collective numbers), although there may be related categories specifically for these types of terms.
The term "collective numbers" or "collective numerals" might be applied to different sets of terms in Hungarian, based on its usage pertaining to (more or less equivalent) terms in various other languages:
- mindkettő; mindhárom (“both; all three”) (higher numbers are formed with two separate words and the definite article in between, e.g. mind a négy (“all four”))
- ketten; hárman; négyen; etc. (“two people / two of us/you them; three people / three of us/you/them; etc.”) (used as adverbs)
- kettőnk/kettőtök/kettejük; hármunk/hármótok/hármójuk, négyünk/négyőtök/négyük; etc. (“two of us/you/them; three of us/you/them; etc.”) (these terms are often replaced by analytic constructions formed with the appropriate form of közüle), e.g. hárman közülünk (“three [out] of us”)
- kettesével; hármasával; etc. (“by twos, by threes; etc.”)
- kettesben; hármasban; etc. (“in a group of two / [only] the two of us/you/them; in a group of three / the three of us/you/them; etc.”)
- pár/kettős/duett; trió/hármas/trojka; etc. (“pair/couple/duo/duet; trio; etc.”)
- kettős; hármas; négyes; etc. (“of two; of three; of four; etc.”, adjectives)
