Category:Russian possessive surnames

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

Russian surnames with a declension similar to possessive adjectives. These have the same endings as possessive adjectives, i.e. -ин (-in)/-ын (-yn) or -ов (-ov)/-ев (-ev)/-ёв (-jóv), but lack the neuter gender and decline slightly differently. For example, the surname По́пов (Pópov) has prepositional singular По́пове (Pópove), while the possessive adjective сы́нов (sýnov, son's) has prepositional singular сы́новом (sýnovom).
