Categories with terms that are no longer fashionable and thus are anachronistic, but still sometimes in use, especially by older speakers.

Dated terms should be distinguished from archaic terms, which are no longer in use (except occasionally for special effect) but are still sometimes encountered in older literature and are typically recognized by native speakers; and obsolete terms, which are no longer in use at all and are not usually recognized by native speakers.
