This commune and the surrounding areas used to consist of several truông (“wild bush or grassland”): the first truông cây trường ("wild lychee bushland") is now part of Trừ Văn Thố commune, the second is the area of the current Commune People's Committee, and the third is now at Bà Tứ hamlet.
