Etymology
[edit]Gikun word derived by applying Chinese-derived spelling 清涼 (“refreshing, cool”), a term which decomposes into 清 (“clear, clean, pure, quiet”) + 涼 (“cool”), to native Japanese word すずし (suzushi) to denote a refreshing coolness.
