Etymology
[edit]From 限りなき (kagirinaki, the 連体形 (rentaikei, “attributive form”) of classical adjective 限りなし (kagirinashi), modern 限りない (kagirinai), “eternal”) + 命 (inochi, “life”), applying the 義訓 (gikun, “meaning reading”) to 永生 (eisei, “eternal life, immortality”).
