- It can be -den, when the noun's last vowel is a front vowel.
- It can be -tan, when the noun's last consonant is "f", "s", "t", "k", "ç", "ş", "h" or "p".
- It must be used with an apostrophe when forming a proper noun.
- İstanbul + -dan → İstanbul'dan
