- (adjective-forming suffix) Added to a noun to form an adjective.
- (noun-forming suffix) Added to a verb to form a noun. In the sense of tools, subject or object actions and abilities or abstract actions.
- ю̄нтуӈкве (û̄ntuňkve, “to sew”) + -уп (-up) → ю̄нтуп (û̄ntup, “sewing needle”)
- сэ̄рива̄руӈкве (sè̄rivāruňkve, “to spoil, to stain something”) + -уп (-up) → сэ̄рива̄руп (sè̄rivārup, “fly”)
- суссылтаӈкве (sussyltaňkve, “to show”) + -уп (-up) → суссылтап (sussyltap, “presentation”)
Usage notes

- -уп if the previous letter is a consonant but not й
- -п/-па if the previous letter is a vowel
- -юп if the previous letter is й, which assimilates to the ю
2. (noun-forming suffix)
- -уп if the verb stem is made up of an odd number of syllables
- -ап if the verb stem is made up of an even number of syllables
- -пи if its a vowel verb stem
