Compare Tawang Monpa /ple⁵⁵/, Burmese လဲ (lai:), Tibetan རྗེ (rje) with the Chinese comparanda (OC *leːɡs, *leɡ, “change, interchange”), (OC *lal, “change, shift”) or (OC *mreːʔ, “buy, purchase”).[1]
