[edit]From Proto-Iranian *xšwáš (compare Persian شش (šeš), Northern Kurdish şeş), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *šwáćš (compare Sanskrit षष् (ṣáṣ)), from Proto-Indo-European *swéḱs (compare Lithuanian šešì, Tocharian B ṣkas, Latin sex, Old Church Slavonic шесть (šestĭ), Old English six (English six)).
