From Proto-Saka *Mavyaka, from *mavya (“tiger, hero”) (compare with Khotanese mauya, muyi (“tiger”); Sogdian 𐼺𐼷𐼴 (myw), 𐫖𐫏𐫇 (myw, “tiger”)).[1] Compare with 𐨨𐨆𐨀 (moa) and 𐨨𐨆𐨒 (moga).
