[edit]First attested in the Worin seokbo (月印釋譜 / 월인석보), 1459, as Middle Korean 어젯〮밤〮 (Yale: ècéy-s-pám). Equivalent to 어제 (eoje, “yesterday”) + ㅅ (-s-, genitive interfix) + 밤 (bam, “night”).
