[edit]Inherited from Old Javanese lontar, rontar, rontal, compound of ron (“leaf”) + tal, tala (“palm”), from Sanskrit ताल (tāla, “palm”). Doublet of ꦫꦺꦴꦤ꧀ꦠꦭ꧀ (rontal).
