Etymology
[edit]Shift from a reduplication of either 連 (tsura, "strung together") or 滑 (tsura, "smooth"), or a compound of one of the former + 等 (-ra, nominalizing and pluralizing suffix). The kanji are jukujikun (熟字訓).[1]
