Etymology
[edit]Compound of 時代 (jidai, “age, era, period”) + 錯誤 (sakugo, “error, mistake; misunderstood”).
Appeared in 新らしい言葉の字引 (Atarashii Kotoba no Jibiki) of 1918 as a translation of English anachronism.[1][2]
