Etymology
[edit]From 冷やし (hiyashi, 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 冷やす (hiyasu, “to chill”)) + 中華 (Chūka, “China, as in 中華料理 (Chūka ryōri, “Chinese food”)”).
