[edit]伊勢 + の (attributive particle) + 大神 (literally “great god”), so called because Amaterasu is most prominently worshipped at the 伊勢(大)神宮 (Ise (Dai)jingū, “Ise (Grand) Shrine”) in Ise Province (now Ise City, Mie Prefecture).
Proper noun
[edit]伊勢大神 • (Ise no Ōkami) ←いせのおほみかみ (Ise no Ofomikami)?
