     この極(ごく)楽(らく)の蓮(はす)池(いけ)の下(した)は、丁(ちょう)度(ど)地(じ)獄(ごく)の底(そこ)に当(あた)って居(お)りますから、水(すい)晶(しょう)のような水(みず)を透(す)き徹(とお)して、三(さん)途(ず)の河(かわ)や針(はり)の山(やま)の景(け)色(しき)が、丁(ちょう)度(ど)覗(のぞ)き眼(め)鏡(がね)を見(み)るように、はっきりと見(み)えるのでございます。

     Kono Gokuraku no hasuike no shita wa, chōdo Jigoku no soko ni atatteorimasu kara, suishō no yō na mizu o sukitōshite, Sanzu no Kawa ya Hari no Yama no keshiki ga, chōdo nozokimegane o miru yō ni, hakkiri to mieru no de gozaimasu.

     The bottom of the lotus pond in Paradise precisely was the depths of Hell, so sights such as the Sanzu River and the Mountain of Needles were clearly visible through the crystal-clear water, just as if one were looking into a peep show.
