Etymology
[edit]From Pali amata (“nectar; ambrosia”, literally “not dead; undead; undying”). Cognate with Khmer អមត (ʼâmôt). Compare Sanskrit अमृत (amṛta), from which Thai อมฤต (à-má-rít) is derived.
