[edit]From Pali rāmādhipati (literally “Overlord Rāma”), from rāma (“Rāma”) + adhipati (literally “overlord; high king”); or from Sanskrit रमाधिपति (ramādhipati, idem), from राम (rāma) + अधिपति (adhipati); equivalent to Thai ราม (raam) + อธิบดี (à-típ-bɔɔ-dii). Cognate with Khmer រាមាធិបតី (riəmiəthɨptəy).
