[edit]Inherited from Old Gujarati हीउं (hīuṃ), from Prakrit 𑀳𑀺𑀆 (hiā), 𑀳𑀺𑀬𑀬 (hiyaya, hiatus-filler) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit हृदय (hṛ́daya). Doublet of હૃદય (hŕdya), દિલ (dil), and હાર્ટ (hārṭ). Cognate with Marwari हियौ (hiyau).
