[edit]Inherited from Apabhramsa सोरट्ठ (soraṭṭha), from Prakrit 𑀲𑁄𑀭𑀝𑁆𑀞 (soraṭṭha), from Sanskrit સૌરાષ્ટ્ર (saurāṣṭra),[1] vṛddhi derivative of સુરાષ્ટ્ર (surāṣṭra, literally “having good dominion”). Doublet of સૌરાષ્ટ્ર (saurāṣṭra). Cognate with Marathi सोरठ (soraṭh).
