[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀔𑀚𑁆𑀚𑀼𑀭 (khajjura), from Sanskrit खर्जूर (kharjū́ra). Cognate with Bengali খেজুর (khejur), Dhivehi ކަދުރު (kaduru), and Hindustani کَھجُور / खजूर (khajūr).
