Etymology

From সফুৰি (xophuri) +‎ আম (am, mango). The former is from Arabic سفري (safriyy). Cognate with Sylheti ꠢꠚꠞꠤ (hofóri), Sylheti ꠡꠚꠞꠤ (śofóri), Odia ସପୁରୀ (sapuri).
