[edit]Probably from Sanskrit ৱিলগ্ন (vilagna) or Sanskrit ৱিযগ্ন (viyagna). Compare Kamta বেলেগ (beleg), Sylheti ꠛꠦꠟꠦꠉ (beleg), Odia ବେଗଳ (begaḷa), Hindustani बिलग / بِلگ (bilag), Nepali बेग्लो (beglo), Gujarati વેગલું (veglũ), Marathi वेगळे (vegḷe).
