[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi वेगळ (vegaḷa), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀯𑁂𑀕𑁆𑀕𑀮 (veggala), from Sanskrit विगलित (vigalita). Cognate to Gujarati વેગળું (vegaḷũ), Odia ବେଗଳ (begaḷa) and perhaps Assamese বেলেগ (beleg).
