[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit বাঢ (bāḍha, “well, very well”), বাল়্হ (bāḷha), ৱাঢম্ (vāḍham), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *baẓḍʰás, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *bʰaždʰás, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰn̥ǵʰ-tó-s, from *bʰenǵʰ- (“to be thick, stout”). Cognate to Torwali بار (bār, “thick, fat”), Pali bāḷhaṁ (“very much”).
