    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀲𑀫𑀺𑀅 (samia, kind of food), 𑀲𑀫𑀺𑀆 (samiā, wheat flour), from Sanskrit शमिता (śamitā, rice powder), समिता (samitā, wheat flour).[1] Compare the later Sanskrit सेविका (sevikā, sevai).
