[edit]Inherited from Old Gujarati राषिवउं (rāṣivaüṃ /rākhivaüṃ/), from Prakrit 𑀭𑀓𑁆𑀔𑀇 (rakkhaï), from Sanskrit रक्षति (rákṣati). Cognate with Middle Bengali রাখ (rakh).
