Inherited from Old Hindi यूं (yūṃ), from Apabhramsa एंव (eṃva), from Prakrit 𑀏𑀯 (eva), 𑀏𑀯𑀁 (evaṃ), from Sanskrit एवम् (evam), ultimately from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Háywas, from Proto-Indo-European *óywos.
