Etymology

Inherited from Prakrit 𑀫𑀼𑀁𑀟 (muṃḍa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit मुण्ड (muṇḍa). Cognate with Punjabi ਮੁੰਡਾ (muṇḍā), ਮੁੰਨਾ (munnā).
