Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘦𑘳𑘎𑘜𑘹 (mukaṇe), 𑘦𑘳𑘽𑘎𑘜𑘹 (muṃkaṇe). Related to मोकळे (mokḷe). Cognate with Gujarati મૂકવું (mūkvũ), Punjabi ਮੁੱਕਣਾ (mukkaṇā) / مُکّݨا (mukkṇā).
