Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit भस्मर (bhasmara, “ashy”), from भस्मन् (bhasman, “ash”) + -र (-ra, “acquiring, possessing”, adjectival suffix). Compare Punjabi ਭੱਸਰ (bhassar, “dusty”) and Nepali भसार् (bhasār, “untidy”).
