[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit *𑀫𑁄𑀝𑁆𑀝 (*moṭṭa), from Ashokan Prakrit *𑀫𑁄𑀝 (*moṭa), from a lost substrate. Cognate with Bengali মোটা (mōṭa), Punjabi ਮੋਟਾ (moṭā).
