Inherited from Old Hindi परख (parakha), from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀧𑀭𑀺𑀓𑁆𑀔 (parikkha), from Sanskrit परीक्षा (parīkṣā). Doublet of परीक्षा (parīkṣā).
