[edit]Inherited from Prakrit *𑀡𑀺𑀬𑀸𑀆𑀭 ~ 𑀅𑀡𑀺𑀬𑀸𑀆𑀭 (*ṇiyāāra ~ aṇiyāāra) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit *अन्याकार (anyākāra) (compare Old Marathi 𑘀𑘡𑘿𑘧𑘰𑘎𑘰𑘨 (anyākāra)), from अन्य (anya, “different”) + आकार (ākāra, “form, shape”).[1]
