[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘟𑘹𑘄𑘩 (deula), 𑘟𑘹𑘄𑘯 (deuḷa), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀤𑁂𑀯𑀉𑀮 (devaüla), from Sanskrit देवकुल (devakula, “temple”). Cognate with Gujarati દેવળ (devaḷ), Hindi देवल (deval).
