    Inherited from Old Marathi तुटणे (tuṭaṇe), from Prakrit 𑀝𑀼𑀝𑁆𑀝𑀇 (ṭuṭṭaï, to break), ultimately from Sanskrit तृद् (tṛd, to cleave, split). Cognate to Hindi टूटना (ṭūṭnā).
