[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘎𑘻𑘚𑘹𑘽 (koḍeṃ, “a problem; a riddle”), 𑘎𑘳𑘁𑘚𑘹𑘽 (kuāḍeṃ, “a puzzle; a riddle”) (compare Maharastri Prakrit 𑀓𑀽𑀟 (kūḍa), Sanskrit कूट (kūṭa)). Compare Gujarati કૂડું (kūḍũ, “fraudulent, treacherous”), Sindhi ڪُوڙو / कूड़ो, ڪُوَڙو / कुवड़ो, Punjabi ਕੂੜਾ (kūṛā) / کُوڑا (kūṛā), Sinhalese කුළු (kuḷu, “false”).
